Mediating Couples Through Trump's Tax Chaos

Mediating Couples Through Trump's Tax Chaos

As we now know, the Trump tax legislation is now the Law of the Land.  What do we do now?  What do we need to know?  How can divorce mediators help couples negotiate fair outcomes given the new – and still possibly unknowable – consequences of this tax legislation?
Bob Collins, veteran divorce mediator, noted trainer, and Professor of Practice at Cardozo Law School will explain the changes in the new tax law most likely to vex divorcing couples (and their mediators) in coming months, including non-deductible spousal maintenance, revised tax exemptions, and changing child credits.  He will then share thoughts on handling these new issues in matrimonial negotiations, and offer universal approaches that mediators can use to help achieve settlement in the face of uncertainty.
